53) KEEP IT SIMPLE:

The leaders of the Jewish People were selected to be the spies who would scout out the land of Israel. They brought back a bad report and as a result we spent forty years wandering through the desert.[1]

The Kotzker Rebbe says; “Had Moshe selected just ordinary simple people (instead of great leaders), we would have entered Etetz Yisrael immediately.”[2]
